Plenary Session (3): Building a New Generation of Mental Health Talent

Passionate about mental health and making a difference? Young adults are uniquely positioned to support their peers as trained peer support workers and youth mental health advocates. As demand for youth-centered mental health support continues to grow, these emerging roles are becoming an increasingly important complement to formal mental health services. This panel will discuss how we can cultivate the next generation of youth mental health leaders, providing pathways for young adults to develop the skills, confidence, and credentials needed to care for their communities, and champion a lasting “Youth for Youth” movement for wellbeing and advocacy.
