"Words of Care and Kindness" Wall

Wellness Club - Methodist College
Arc

Activity description

The club members set up a message board in the school canteen, allowing students to leave encouraging words and spread positive energy. This message board was displayed on campus for an entire month, and many students would deliberately visit it when feeling down to read the uplifting messages and gain comfort and strength.

To promote the initiative, the team also produced a short animated video, which was presented during a morning assembly. The video highlighted touching messages from the board and encouraged more students to join in, spreading their own words of support and care. Through this project, the club hoped to foster a more compassionate and connected school environment, where every student feels seen, supported, and valued.

Activity highlight

The “Words of Care and Kindness” Wall was on display from February 25 to March 14, drawing enthusiastic participation from around 700 students and staff across the school—a resounding success! Students used the board to express their wishes, worries, and blessings, giving voice to emotions that are often difficult to share aloud. Many chose to write anonymously, allowing them to open up about their inner struggles in a safe and supportive way.

At the same time, others took the opportunity to write uplifting and encouraging messages for their peers. Through these heartfelt notes, students were able to offer and receive care, support, and strength—creating a campus atmosphere filled with empathy, connection, and mutual understanding.

Although some students were too shy to appear on camera, they still dedicated several hours to creating a short animation to promote the club’s activities.

This activity allowed students to indirectly feel support and encouragement from others, fostering a stronger sense of care and connection within the school community. It also contributed to the overall development of mental well-being on campus. Teachers actively participated as well, which deeply encouraged and validated the efforts of the club members, boosting their confidence to continue promoting future initiatives.

Purpose behind this activity

Considering that our students lead very busy lives and sometimes find it difficult to care for those around them, the message board provides a quick and simple way for them to show mutual support, creating a warm and encouraging atmosphere on campus. This message board reminds everyone that support and encouragement among peers are essential, helping to strengthen connections and emotional resonance. Through this initiative, we hope to enhance students’ mental well-being while fostering a positive school culture where every teacher and student feels understood and valued.
