The Wing Kwong Game

Resonance of Minds - Pentecostal Holiness Church Wing Kwong College
Arc

Activity description

The Wing Kwong Game is conducted in small groups, simulating various challenging scenarios to enable students to experience the balance between pressure and support through cooperation and competition. Inspired by Squid Game, the activity features three major stages designed to allow participants to personally understand that ‘appropriate pressure can serve as motivation, but excessive pressure may lead to negative emotions.’

Activity highlight

Throughout the event, students participated enthusiastically, creating a lively atmosphere. During the “1-2-3, Freeze!” challenge, everyone remained focused and tense, demonstrating composure and self-control. In the group challenge, participants cooperated and encouraged one another, experiencing the joy of teamwork. The concluding ‘Partner Hunt’ segment required students to swiftly find suitable teammates within a strict timeframe. Those unable to form teams were eliminated, creating a tense and thrilling atmosphere. Students scurried about seeking partners, racing against the clock to assemble teams – a process filled with laughter and lively interaction.

During the competition, the students worked together and encouraged one another, demonstrating true teamwork.
During a brief intermission, the committee members demonstrated breathing exercises, enabling students to learn relaxation techniques even amidst the tense and intense competition.

The activity concluded with mental well-being tips and small gifts, reminding everyone to maintain a relaxed and positive mindset amidst their busy academic schedules, extending the experience gained during the event into their daily lives.

Purpose behind this activity

Through “The Wing Kwong Game”, we hope to help students understand that pressure is not entirely negative; when properly managed and confronted, it can become a driving force for growth. The club aim to continue hosting similar interactive activities, enabling students to learn about mental health in a relaxed setting while building mutual support and trust among peers, thereby becoming sources of strength for one another.
