Activity description
Formulating custom herbal sachets to provide F3 students with a "scent-sational" remedy for subject-selection stress.
Activity highlight
Choosing elective subjects is a major milestone for F3 students, and let's be honest—it can be incredibly nerve-wracking! To support the "Relaxation" pillar of the EdB’s 4Rs, the committee transformed classrooms into the "Relax Apothecary" during a special lunchtime session. This activity attracted 131 students and teachers to join.
During the session, committee members used a PowerPoint presentation to introduce the event and the materials, followed by a live, step-by-step demonstration. Students then visited the pop-up "apothecary stations" at the front of the classroom to hand-pick hypoallergenic Chinese herbs tailored to their needs—whether they wanted to "calm the mind for better sleep," "boost energy and focus," or "relieve stress and uplift their mood." Everyone carefully packed their herbs into beautifully crafted sachets. Soon, a soothing botanical fragrance filled the air, instantly swapping the stressful pre-exam tension for a deeply healing atmosphere. These personalized sachets will serve as the perfect wellness companions for students as they tackle their upcoming exams and subject-selection choices!

Total sellout! The response was so overwhelming that the most popular herbs were completely cleared out in no time.
Purpose behind this activity
This activity was designed to harness the power of Aromatherapy for emotional regulation. The committee chose the scent of herbs because it provides an immediate, natural way to trigger the brain's relaxation response.
