Activity highlight

At Wong Chuk Biu Parallel Psychology Society’s “Mind Hostel”, the first on-campus mental health event, Stress Smash was held during lunchtime in March.

Before the activity began, club members introduced the importance of mental health and conducted an interactive Q&A session to understand students’ sources of stress. During the event, participating students wrote down their worries, stuck them onto crispy noodles, and then crushed the noodles to release their emotions.

In the group discussion segment, students shared other ways to relieve stress beyond venting, and were provided with simple stress-relief techniques. The event attracted a total of 28 students who came together to exchange their usual methods for managing stress.

Students wrote down their worries, ready to crush them away!

Purpose behind this activity

The committee hopes the activity will help students relieve everyday stress through a straightforward and physical way of releasing emotions. During the event, students were asked about their sources of stress and engaged in discussions about stress-relief methods, encouraging collective brainstorming and learning from each other’s experiences. The activity also aimed to raise awareness of mental health, encouraging students to pay more attention to their own well-being as well as that of their peers.
