

Space Out Competition – A chance for unwind, relax, and recharge.



Activity description
The wellness club held a Space Out Competition, designed to promote the idea of relaxing and spacing out.
Activity highlight
The activity was held on the 24/2/2025 and there were in total 40 participants that joined the Space Out competition. The activity turned out to be a great success. As more students signed up than expected, the club is even considering holding another session of the contest. The participants were invited to lie on the yoga mat, without falling asleep, playing phones, eating or drinking. While the committee members checked their pulse every 15 minutes to decide the winner of the competition. A mindfulness professor from HKU was also invited as a guest speaker to share about mindfulness, enabling other schoolmates to better understand the rationale.

The purpose of the Space Out Competition is to highlight the importance of taking a break from our hectic lives. As the committee members researched that this unique competition has been held in various countries, aims to provide an interesting way for participants to unwind, which they would also like to introduce to their schoolmates. It serves as a valuable opportunity for both students and teachers to step away from their busy schedules and experience the benefits of relaxation.
