Activity description

The committee members organised the "Soul Journey - Chill Chill" event, aiming to create a relaxed atmosphere. Through music, games, and art creation, the event helped students relieve stress. From understanding symptoms of anxiety to learning self-care techniques, the event encouraged students to support each other, express emotions, and build positive connections, enhancing mental health and well-being while reducing feelings of isolation and anxiety.

Activity highlight

On July 3, the committee members hosted a warm and therapeutic "Soul Journey - Chill Chill" event in the school hall, inviting 140 students from F4-F5 to participate in a session focused on relaxation and stress relief.

The event centered around the theme of "Anxiety" and featured six meaningful and engaging segments, including: a live band performance, the flying slippers challenge, the musical chairs, the space out contest, creative handcraft activities, and a group sing-along. Each activity was thoughtfully designed to help students understand emotional health and learn to coexist with anxiety through fun and interaction.

In the "Flying Slippers" segment, students had five chances to throw slippers into a grid, where each section hid a question or misconception related to anxiety (e.g., "List two emotional symptoms of anxiety"). It was a fun way to learn through play. The “Musical Chair” game had 15 to 20 students seated in a circle. The host read out a statement, and students had to stand up and move to a new spot if they identified with the description. The statements covered "symptoms of anxiety" (e.g., "Students who have trouble focusing due to worrying about future events") and "coping strategies" (e.g., "Students who express their emotions through drawing or Instagram"). The game created a relaxed atmosphere, allowing students to reflect on their own experiences and resonate with one another.

Students had five opportunities to throw slippers into a grid and answer questions or misconceptions related to anxiety. If they answered correctly, they would receive a stamp.

In the "Sing-along" segment, students took turns singing a song with an encouraging or positive message. The lyrics expressed their feelings, helping to ease emotions and create lasting, joyful memories with friends.

Students sang "Stars"(《凡星》) by Panther Chan in a group, expressing the message, "Anyone can shine, as long as they find the right place (誰都可發光,只要找對地方)," spreading hope and strength with positive energy.

In addition to the active games, there were also quieter activities to provide a space for introspective relaxation. The "Space Out Contest" was a timed challenge of 15 minutes where students focused on their breathing and heart rate, aiming to achieve inner calm within a short time. The handmade craft station offered transparent acrylic balls and various materials such as preserved flowers and glitter. Students were free to create unique small ornaments. As the transparent balls filled with their chosen materials, each piece reflected the student’s hopes for life and personal emotions. Finally, students could visit the painting station to add color to hand-drawn artwork, leaving behind beautiful interactive memories.

Students focused on creating unique acrylic accessories, enjoying their creative time while listening to soothing music, feeling a sense of inner peace and satisfaction.

Through the activity, students not only had fun but also learned to understand their emotions, explore suitable stress-relief methods, and gain warmth and strength through mutual support.

Purpose behind this activity

The committee members hoped to create a relaxed and restful space through this event, allowing students to rest and relax both physically and mentally. It also aimed to raise their awareness of their own emotional and physical states, help them understand that other students may have similar feelings and experiences, reduce feelings of isolation, and teach simple self-care methods through the various games.
