Mood Mocktail Station

Ju’s MindHarvest - Ju Ching Chu Secondary School (Kwai Chung)
Arc

Activity description

The Wellness Club held a drink-mixing activity during lunchtime. The committee members prepared various beverages, including soda water, Yakult, and fruit juices. Participating students could choose juices based on their current emotional state, using colours to express how they felt. For example, yellow mango juice represented happiness, while red watermelon juice symbolised anger. Committee members encouraged students to accept their emotions symbolically by drinking their chosen beverages.

Activity highlight

The Wellness Club "Ju’s MindHarvest" organised the third in-school wellness activity in late April. During lunchtime, the committee members hosted the "Mood Mocktail Station" at the 5/F Covered Playground. The turnout exceeded expectations, with nearly 80 students lining up to participate! Students shared their emotional states with the committee members and expressed their feelings through colour-coded juices. The committee members truly experienced how beverages can soothe the soul. Seeing students holding their drinks while laughing and chatting with friends created a joyful atmosphere, proving that the activity effectively brightened the students' moods. It also successfully encouraged students to embrace and accept their emotions through the simple act of enjoying a drink.

Purpose behind this activity

To encourage students to embrace their feelings, the Wellness Club hoped that through this drink-mixing activity, students could use the colours of the beverages to express their emotional states. By drinking the concoctions, it symbolised a personal gesture of self-acceptance.
