Mindful Dodgeball Challenge

Activity description
To dynamic release stress and build positive coping strategies, our team hosted the "Mindful Dodgeball Challenge" on the school playground. Aligning with Relaxation, Resilience, and Relationship from the "4Rs Mental Health Charter," students competed in teams using strategic dodgeball tactics. The event seamlessly integrated mental wellness elements: tagged players had to complete self-care tasks before re-entering the game—symbolizing the need to pause and recharge when facing setbacks—while unsuccessful attackers shared practical stress-relief tips (such as deep breathing or music listening) with the audience. By combining physical sports with wellness education, the activity empowered students to build resilience while fostering overall mental wellness.
Activity highlight
During the event, the school playground was charged with energy and laughter. Before the matches began, students put on team vests and gathered enthusiastically to strategize, displaying exceptional teamwork. In the heat of the game, attackers held softballs to launch precise throw-ins while defenders flexed their agility and coordination. Tagged players eagerly completed their pause-and-recharge tasks before re-joining the match, deeply understanding the value of self-care during setbacks. Meanwhile, participants openly shared their personal de-stressing secrets, enriching everyone with practical wellness tips. By the end, students had softballs stuck all over their vests and shared warm laughs, building strong peer support through engaging play.

Purpose behind this activity
We hope that through the "Mindful Dodgeball Challenge," students learned that stress and setbacks are normal parts of life, and the key lies in taking a pause to care for oneself when needed. Beyond teamwork, we encourage students to apply the stress-relief techniques—such as deep breathing and peer communication—to their academic and daily lives. Moving forward, our team remains committed to promoting mental wellness, organizing diverse events to cultivate a supportive and resilient campus environment.
