Activity description
To give everyone a quick break at the end of the term, the club set up a music booth called "Lyrics Connect Our Hearts" at the lunchtime Mental Wellbeing Carnival, held at the covered playground.
The club picked a selection of uplifting pop songs and invited students to challenge themselves by singing or reciting the next line of the lyrics. After clearing the challenge, they could draw or write on wooden plaques or postcards to leave a warm message for the next person, and pick one created by another peer to take with them.
Activity highlight
On the day of the event, many students came to the booth to take on the lyrics challenge. Participants engaged in their own ways—some sang out the lines immediately, while others hummed along as they recalled the words. Whenever someone couldn't find a familiar song or felt too shy to sing, the club's committee members stepped in to sing along and cheer them on.
This activity provided a unique opportunity for students to sing together with friends at school. Everyone was highly engaged, which successfully offered a practical break from academic stress. Seeing hesitant students find their voice through encouragement brought great satisfaction to the committee members, who were pleased to build up the students' confidence and pass on a strong sense of peer support.

With a little push from the club’s committee members, students find their voice and sing out loud—confidence leveled up!
Purpose behind this activity
The club hopes to use the power of pop music to cheer on students facing academic pressure and encourage everyone to find their own fun ways to decompress in daily life.
