Embrace Yourself — Learning to Care for Our Emotions

Activity description
To alleviate academic pressure and encourage self-care, we have specially planned an exciting week of stress-relief activities at the end of February. The theme, "Embrace Yourselves," aims to fill the campus with positive energy and a warm atmosphere. Organizers have prepared a series of fun and uplifting activities, hoping students will learn to appreciate themselves, boost their confidence, and accept who they are.
Activity highlight
The event uses diverse methods to help students connect with their emotions and themselves, while also inviting parents to join in the care. A series of activities includes a worry voting station, lunchtime song sharing and performances, a craft workshop, a movie screening, and a parent encouragement station.
Organizers set up a voting wall where students can anonymously write down or choose options that resonate with them or help relieve stress, such as "the song that helps you unwind" or "the activity that brings you comfort." By visualizing the voting results, students can feel the collective empathy and support, conveying the message that "you are not alone."

Students share their favorite comfort songs🎶 What kind of music do you enjoy relaxing?
During lunchtime, committee members acted as DJs, sharing a selection of soothing songs through the broadcast. They also invited students to perform live, whether singing or playing instruments, filling the campus with youthful melodies and positive energy. Committee members noted that the students' performances inspired them, making them feel recharged!

Seeing how much everyone enjoyed the students' singing performances, the teachers also joined in and sang for the students! 🎤
At the craft station, students could freely design wooden coasters, writing uplifting messages or expressing their feelings through drawings. This allowed everyone to experience the joy and healing power of hands-on creativity.

After class, the movie screening featured the heartwarming and inspirational film "Turning Red," allowing students to unwind and share some laughs after a full day of lessons. The film's themes of family, friendship, and self-acceptance aimed to resonate with students, helping them navigate the challenges of adolescence. Following the screening, there was a sharing session to encourage students to express their thoughts and emotional reflections.

The event concluded with a parent encouragement station. In advance, students thoughtfully wrote messages on heart-shaped sticky notes to express what they wanted to say to their parents, which were then assembled into a heart shape. On Parent Day, parents wrote their responses and encouraging words, allowing students to receive warmth and support from home in their daily lives.
Purpose behind this activity
The "Embrace Yourselves" series of activities is not just a one-time opportunity for physical and mental relaxation; it represents a long-term commitment to students' mental health. We hope that through these sincere and heartfelt activities, everyone can learn to pause amidst life's busyness and pressures, listen to themselves, and understand that everyone has the right to be understood and accepted. Most importantly, they should learn to embrace themselves.
