Butterfly Pea Garden Day Tour

Activity description
This activity centered on “connecting with nature” and “drawing psychological resilience from alpacas” during the Butterfly Pea Garden visit. The Club hoped that students could be inspired by the alpacas’ qualities and the mindful connection with nature, gaining insights that would help them relax and recharge. Along the way, students were encouraged to share their experiences with the whole school community, spreading spiritual nourishment and positive energy across campus.
Activity highlight
The activity was conducted in two parts: Part One—the Butterfly Pea Garden Day Tour—took place on July 13th, followed by Part Two, an interactive Instagram post campaign. It successfully drew participation from numerous students and teachers alike.
On the day of the excursion, everyone boarded the charter bus with high spirits. Upon arrival at the garden, students couldn't wait to explore the attractions: cruising gently on swan pedal boats, writing wishes on alpaca-themed wooden plaques, and taking in the picturesque views of rolling hills and swimming fish. It was a wonderful opportunity to completely escape the city noise and enjoy a relaxing, quality day outdoors.
The trip was also filled with fun surprises and memorable moments:
- The "Expectation vs. Reality" at Sky Mirror: The club committee members originally planned to take a large group photo at the popular "Sky Mirror" photo spot. However, during on-site scouting, they realized it looked a bit different than expected. Demonstrating quick thinking, the team flexibly pivoted and selected an even more scenic backdrop for the group photo!
- An Alpaca’s Surprise "Welcome Gift": While walking past the fence with a carrot in hand, one student turned around only to get enthusiastically spit on in the face by an alpaca—a "unique greeting" that still leaves them laughingly puzzled!
Students were feeding the alpacas.~
Aside from bonding with the animals, students hopped onto fun dinosaur-themed rides and tackled the high-ropes adventure bridge together. Encouraging one another through every challenge, everyone realized that doing things together as a team makes everything more joyful, bringing the group much closer in the process.
As the trip came to an end, students expressed that they still wanted more, exclaiming, "The time was way too short—we want to explore every single corner of the garden!" Many shared their hopes for longer outdoor excursions in the future.
Purpose behind this activity
To help students relieve the roller‑coaster stress that builds up during exams, the activity gave them time to relax, play, see small animals, and enjoy some handicraft. The Club hoped that through “connecting with nature” and “drawing psychological resilience from alpacas,” students could not only rest and recharge but also strengthen bonds with friends. This way, the post‑exam activity enhanced both interpersonal connections and students’ resilience in facing challenges.
