Breezing Lunchtime Market

Activity description
With the core themes of interpersonal connection, sensory relaxation, and dynamic meditation, the club designed three activities — Bingo Search, Mystery Box Challenge, and Bead Art — each corresponding to the 4Rs mental health framework.
1. School-wide Bingo Search (Corresponding to: Relationship — Interpersonal Connection)
• Enhance sensitivity among teachers and students, shifting from noticing external traits to recognizing emotional states, breaking down interpersonal barriers on campus.
• Through “positive interaction tasks,” encourage teachers and students to actively express kindness and appreciation, building a supportive network across grades and roles.
• Reduce social anxiety by allowing students to practice speaking up and giving compliments in a stress-free game, boosting confidence in interpersonal interactions.
2. Mystery Box Challenge (Sensory Relaxation Room) (Corresponding to: Relaxation & Rest)
• Use tactile sensory experiences to help teachers and students detach from chaotic thoughts and practice mindfulness techniques of “living in the moment.”
• Guide participants to connect different textures with emotional responses, learning to identify states such as anxiety, anger, or calm, and to regulate emotions through sensory relaxation.
• Provide a safe, non-verbal resting space where teachers and students can take a brief emotional break, easing academic and campus pressures.
3. Bead Art Activity (Corresponding to: Rest, Relaxation & Resilience)
• Allow the brain to pause from complex thinking; fine motor activity reduces anxiety and achieves effective rest.
• Through arranging and redoing, practice patience and resilience — learning not to self‑negate when facing “failure or interruption,” and cultivating the courage to start again.
• Create personal mini artworks, enhancing self‑efficacy through a sense of accomplishment, while expressing emotions through “color and shape” for psychological healing.
Activity highlight
The activity brought together over 170 participants, including students, faculty, and staff, with every booth filled with lively enjoyment.
One of the undisputed crowd favorites was the 'Mystery Box Challenge'! While testing it out beforehand, the club committee members couldn't help but scream in anticipation as they reached into the unknown. Surprisingly, the participated students remained completely calm and collected, breezing through the challenge with ease—a hilarious contrast that brought tons of laughter and surprise to the booth!
Over at the Bead Art Activity, students showed incredible patience and creativity. Carefully placing each tiny bead one by one, they turned their imaginative ideas into unique, handmade creations, making for a warm and wonderfully soothing scene.
Students happily threw darts together with their friends.
